Frequently Asked Questions
-
We begin your first session with an assessment that involves discussing any injuries or conditions you might be working with currently or have had in the past, whether you’ve been referred to Pilates from a medical provider, and any other concerns you might have, followed by a postural assessment that seeks to identify any postural or muscular imbalances you might be working with. This is an informal process and often involves a few basic exercises to understand how your body moves through them. Although we do this at the start, we continue to return to this assessment process throughout your sessions to understand how you’re progressing and so we can continue to evolve your sessions as your strength and form adapts.

As a full equipment Studio Pilates studio, we offer private Pilates sessions where we move through a full body workout, taking into account any injuries, conditions or goals you might be working on or towards, using all of the equipment available.
Head to our Services page for a full list of the services on offer.

Equipment Pilates refers to using the Cadillac, Reformer, Wunda Chair and Barrels. We also have small props which we use in conjunction with the major apparatus and in mat exercises.
Exercises vary across each piece of equipment and there are benefits and challenges to using each of them. This way, we find more connection, space and progress as we move through different exercises on different pieces of equipment. Call us biased but we believe this is the best way to experience Pilates!

That’s totally okay too! If your goal is to get more comfortable with the Reformer and to get into group Reformer classes, we can absolutely stick to the Reformer and learning exercises that you’ll likely see in group Reformer classes.

As a private studio, all sessions are personalised to your body and goals and will continue to adapt with you over time, whether you’re working on recovering from an injury or focusing on building strength in your practice. We believe that this, along with a strong focus on form, alignment and moving with intention, delivers the best results.

All of our classes involve an initial assessment and personalised programming. The difference is whether you would like to attend privately or with others. Our private sessions are 1:1 and perfect for just you. If you’d like to do sessions with a friend or family member, the duet is a perfect way to get the same personalised treatment whilst working out with a friend. Our Trio Classes are ideal if you and two friends or family members would like to work out together (these are currently capped at 3 people).

Wear whatever you feel comfortable working out in and bring water.
We are not a strict socks-on studio however you might feel more comfortable wearing grip socks. Our favourite grip socks are Move Active and Club Martyn.
In the warmer months, you might also like to bring a small towel.
